What you give us
The quote journey asks about your conservatory and how to reach you. Each answer is stored as you send it:
- the roof on it today, its shape and its rough size
- when you hope to have the work done
- your postcode, your name, your email address and your phone number
- anything you type in the notes box
- a tick showing you agreed to be contacted about the quote
Alongside those answers we note the page you set off from and any campaign tags carried in the link that brought you, plus the time the form arrived. If you write a review, we receive the stars you chose, the job we did, your name and town, and your words, and whether you said yes to it going on the site. Emails you send us, and our answers, are kept with your enquiry.
Why we hold it and the lawful basis
- Pricing your roof and booking a survey. You asked for this, so the basis is steps taken at your request before any contract exists.
- Fitting the roof and honouring the guarantee if you decide to go ahead. Here the basis is performing that contract.
- Keeping the business records that tax and accounting law say a firm must hold. The basis is legal obligation.
- Seeing which pages lead people to ask for a price, using the start page and campaign tags rather than your name or number. The basis is our legitimate interest in running a useful website.
- Putting a review on the site, only on the strength of the consent you ticked. You can take that consent back by email.
Nobody buys your details from us, and we never hand them on so other firms can sell to you.
Who else handles it
- Our web host keeps the site and the copy of each enquiry and review it receives, on servers it runs for us.
- The fitting company that surveys and fits One Dry Day roofs receives each quote request in its customer management system, so a surveyor can call you, book the visit and keep track of the job. That system works on instructions, not for its own ends. If it holds data outside the UK, the transfer is protected by the safeguards UK law approves for that purpose.
- Google Analytics receives information about how the site is used, but only if you switch analytics on in the cookie banner. The cookie page sets out what it collects and how to switch it off again.
How long it stays
- An enquiry that never becomes a job: deleted 24 months after the last time we were in touch.
- A job that goes ahead: kept for 6 years, to cover the accounts and the 10 year roof guarantee.
- A review: kept while it is on the site, or until you ask for it to come down.
- Google Analytics data: held by Google for 14 months, then removed.
Your rights over it
UK GDPR gives you a set of rights you can use at any time and free of charge. You can ask to see a copy of what we hold, have a mistake corrected, have your details erased, limit what we do with them, object to anything we do on the basis of legitimate interest, and receive your data in a form another firm could load. Consent you have given can be withdrawn whenever you like.
Send any of these requests to hello@onedryday.co.uk. We may ask you to confirm who you are first, and you will hear back within one month.
Making a complaint about your data
Tell us first if something looks wrong, because most problems are quick to put right. If you are still unhappy, the Information Commissioner's Office handles data protection complaints for the whole of the UK, and its website is ico.org.uk. Our complaints procedure covers anything that is not about personal data.
